Ernst van Keulen was trained as a geographer and briefly worked as a teacher before joining the Education department of the National Maritime Museum in Amsterdam in the late ‘80s. Ernst develops educational programme’s for schools and regular visitors, in which he challenges everyone to make their own discoveries. He played an important role in the renewal of the Maritime Museum in 2011. He is a highly valued guest lecturer at the Reinwardt Academy, the Cultural Heritage degree in Amsterdam. He is an inspiring storyteller that can even bring a subject such as navigational instruments to life.
