Dick Bruna, the famous Dutch artist, children’s book illustrator and writer passed away on February 17th, 2017. Adults and children from all over the world mourn his death.
Miffy is one of Dick Bruna’s most famous characters and stands for openness, curiosity and child friendliness. Each year the winner of the Children in Museum Award, the award for the best children’s museum or programme, will receive a bronze statue of Miffy, to hold for one year.
